Half Asleep Half Awake

Howlin' Jaws

Two years after Strange Effect, their first album the Parisian band return on September 29thwith Half Asleep Half Awake, a second album that will restore your faith in rock music. And how do they do that? With a new batch of overpowered hits, luminous melodies and diabolical fingerburning jams.

They are friends from Lyon who are amazing, they really have some wonderful harmonies. I really like the way they approach their songs because the voice has a truly beautiful place. We share some common references. It’s always great to find a band in a country like France that sounds like this.

Komodor
Nasty Habits

They create a joyful bridge between Tame Impala and King Gizzard, and it really resonates with me; not many people know them since they don’t tour much. In France, it’s somewhat confidential. And it’s truly cool. They are Bretons, living in Armorica as they say, the Armoricans. They have long hair, mustaches, and triangular guitars, and it’s quite impressive.

Alvida
C'est Déjà L'heure

What they’re doing is really great. They released an album at the end of 2024 and it’s truly fantastic. It’s a group of women who are amazing, and they create a kind of Powerpop in French. They have great compositions, wonderful songs, and they really shine on stage. I believe they also inspire lots of women to make music, and that’s really cool because they don’t ask anything from anyone, they just do it well and that’s all.

Steely Dan
Can't Buy a Thrill

I feel more attached when I listen to music, not necessarily to the style, but to the atmosphere that arises from it. When I listen to an album, it transports me directly into a landscape, into a setting, and I find that it really sets the scenes well, in fact. But I think that working on theater music made me realize how much music creates an ambiance.

Roberta Lips
En Plein Cœur

In addition to being our girlfriends, they make awesome songs. It’s a bit punk, a bit power pop, and a bit garage, there are melodies but also energy. There’s also a really cool hard rock element with very Dogg-like vocals.
